This paper approaches some main bioethical issues in the context of the use of virtual devices in psychotherapy. First, we will elaborate a conceptual framework of this form of professional practice, in order to analise it regarding the bioethical principles found in the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights of UNESCO. The methodology is qualitative and with a critical-hermeneutical method of interpretation applied to existing casuistry. Among the main conclusions of this paper it is important to highlight those regarding the main problems of vulneration of rights and guarantees, both of professionals and patients, the access to mental health system, the security of the device and data and the access to a trustworthy service of quality, which provides the device the characteristic of a pharmacon: a possible cure – technology of self -, a possible poison – technology of power. These conditions place in the figure of the professional the responsibility of developing a reflexive and critical analysis prior to the use of the device, in order to weight values, principles, rights, policies and formations, evaluating situations in their singularity, so to draw a proper procedure based in the protection of Human Rights.
