Executive Functions (EFs) are at the base of decision making from the beginning of life. It is crucial to stimulate their development from early childhood at home and at school. Although more than twenty have been described to this day, these functions are developed in solidarity and act together. Adequate inhibitory control is the basis of self-regulated behavior, and constitutes the necessary starting point for the evolution of all other EFs. The full development of adequate executive functioning is essential for daily life as well as for the achievement of academic success. EFs are at the base of the social brain development. Their stimulation and training reduce the impact of possible cognitive disorders. These functions are linked to the achievement of outcomes conducive to healthy development. There are different ways, activities and programs to train EFs. Reducing stress and increasing pleasure in training proposals promotes their development. Activities carried out in contact with nature in the open air are especially valued. Virtual technology and artificial intelligence are expected to offer future training possibilities transferable to real life.
